Usually characters in young adult novels stay forever young. Not Will Lansa. Since Double Heart, in which he was a senior in high school, Will has graduated from college at the University of Colorado, gone on to receive a Phd in anthropology, and is now a 32-year-old anthro prof at Cororado Mountain College. That's when his grandmother calls him back to the Hopi Reservation to embark on a quest to find the missing half of the Hopi's sacred tablet. The tablet is closely linked to the legend of the Hopi savior Pahana. Soon Will is forced to question his doubts about the reality of the sacred tablet and the legend as he finds himself in the midst of a multi-dimensional quest.
